Metra announced in banning liquor cars that ridership is up 30% to record levels for the 3rd year in a row. Plans call for additional stations all the way to Rockford, Il. With energy costs to remain high there is no reason to believe the public needs more commuter trains. While the proposal addresses current Metra trains does it take into consideration a 30% growth which equates to more trains and additional rail space?
