Dear Ms Johnson-Ball, My name is Elizabeth May and I am a taxpayer and resident in Barrington, IL. I happen to live within 250 feet of the EJ&E tracks that CN is trying to buy. We are responsible homeowners who bought a property that needed tender love and care. Over the last 5 years we have made our houses one of the most well cared for on the street. It was an eyesore. It saddens me to think what our home will be after the trains come through and what it will do to our tight knit neighborhood. I respectfully request that you look or re-look at many issues that were not addressed in the Draft EIS such as housing values and impact on the local businesses. Please think of this as if it was happening in your backyard and not thousands of miles away. CN is a corporation responsible to stockholders not the citizens that this will effect. PLEASE deny this request. I'd also like to note that our community is a reasonable community and have dealt with trains since it's existence. But 18+ trains a day is just too much. Thats a massive increase! Why can't CN compromise and even out the traffic on it's existing lines and EJ&E vs just moving the problem. I would also request that the maps with the lines that were available at the open house be distributed to the people affected so they can see how they can expect their home prices to drop. Thanks for the consideration. Please do the right thing for the citizens.
