RE: Concerns regarding Canadian National Railroad purchase of EJ&E railroad track: As a longtime Barrington resident I am most concerned about the effect of increased rail traffic in my community. My first concern is for the safety of children going to and from the local high school and the impact to the school bus system located just west of the tracks off Lake Cook rd. In particular both air and surface contamination will be increased by these trains. My second greatest concern is for the movement of emergency vehicles - police, fire, ambulances, etc. Having lived previously near a freight line I know first hand how long critical intersections can be blocked. We have already lost some retail owners due to their fear of how local traffic problems will diminish the number of buyers willing to deal with the hassle. Also, I have always included my home's value in my retirement planning and a steep decrease will have significant impact on my ability to live sufficiently as I near retirement in a few years. I hope that you will consider these and all other concerns voiced by my neighbors in Barrington and others affected by this purchase. Thank you for your attention. Judy Nolan
