Dear Ms. Johnson-Ball, I would like to express my concern over the proposed purchse of the EJ&E freight train line by Canadian National. This purchase would do one of many things to the communities that it travels through. It would create safety hazards, it would cripple traffic flow, there would be an adverse environmental impact. What about people that need to get to a hospital. I certainly wouldn't want to be in an ambulance that must wait for a frieght train to pass. What about all of the scholl busses with children that cross train tracks everyday? We certainly don't want another tragic accident like the one in Fox River Grove in 1995 where seven children in a school bus were killed. What about hurting local businesses? Our economy is in trouble as we speak and with this purchase more and more local and small businesses could be forced to close down or file for bankruptcy. I want the citizens of the communities that will be affected to have a voice. I want our concerns to be not only heard, but seriously considered and taken into account when a final decision is made.
