Docket # 35087 Dear Dr. Johnson-Bell: Please, please do not approve Candian National's purchase of the EJ&E Railroad. The disruption that this purchase would cause could easily shut down the Village of Barrington, Illinois. The school buses alone pass over the tracks a total of 840 times a day. That number is mind boggling to me and a number that we are asking the Surface Transportation Board to acknowledge. Our children and citizens of Barrington deserve the same opportunity afforded many others - the chance to purchase a home and raise their families in a community that values family life and traditions. My husband and I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. We value and appreciate each and every one of them - someday we would hope that our home (which backs up to the EJ&E) could be a gift to our children but if the sale of EJ&E is approved, the worth of our home will be very little. Please, please Dr. Johnson-Bell - encourage your colleagues to deny Canadian National's purchase of EJ&E. Thank you so much for taking the time to understand the messages from the citizens of Barrington. Please consider the lives of all of our children as you make this very important, informed decision.
