This is my second letter opposing the purchase of the E J & E railroad. Yesterday, as I was traveling home southbound of Wolf Road in Frankfort, the crossing gates were activated by a train. The trains which often sit on these tracks for several hours or days accidently trigger the gates and had to stop and then back up to have them go up. It took several minutes for this to happen. In that amount of time at least 25 cars were lined up on Wolf road in a matter of minutes. due to the fact that there are now several shopping centers on Wolf Road, further increasing traffic. How many cars will be sitting on Wolf with 10-15 minutes trains 2 miles long. It doesn't take a genius to see that they could be backed up all the way to Route 30. There is no escape from the situation, there isn't a road that you can turn around and get to your destination. Turning around and going to the underpass on LaGrange Road could possibly take 10 minutes or more. Is that what we really want when it's an ambulance or police officer who needs to respond to a call. Foreign countries constantly walk all over us. What has happened to this country. We let them tell us what to do, how to do it. Why must be bow to their wishes. Let's take a stand and say NO to the purchase. I'll pay a few extra bucks for products. It's worth it for the quality of life I've worked for. A better home, a nice neighborhood, a safe community. And now I have to let more foreign countries ruin everything I've worked for. I'm proud of my accomplishments, I'm proud to be an American, they took a stand when they started this country. Let's throw more tea in the harbor. Make our forfathers proud, take a stand, hold our ground and not let anyone push us around. Thank you.
