Reference Docket# 35087 On behalf of the 18,000 residents in my ward, we strongly oppose the compromise offered by the Canadian National and demand that the STB follow it's established procedures regarding the sale of any railroad. We also find it unacceptable that the STB would have even considered holding a public meeting, let alone schedule one, more than seven miles away from the nearest EJ&E railroad crossing, when there were at least two meeting facilities within a couple of miles of the railroad. I have given this much thought and there is no logical reason why this happened. I can only suspect that the STB did this with the intend of making it harder for residents to get the the hearing site and reduce the level of public outcry. This needs to be fixed. The claim of being too late in the game won't work. Make the change and we will notify the public.
