Received or sent (printed as 8/1/2008)

We live South of the Village of Plainfield and today I had another experience of the rush hour traffic in the Plainfield Village at 7:30 AM. Experiencing severe pain in my lower chest I decided to drive to Edwards Hospital in Naperville for emergency care. No trains where present at this time and Route 59 and Route 30 where backed-up for two miles South of Plainfield. I can only suspect that if the EJ&E rail was now own by the Canadian National Railway and the track usage increased from the twelve trains per day to the proposed forty-two, the backup of traffic would be two to three times what I experienced today. When the trains go though Plainfield, they virtually stop all traffic going north as cars wanting to turn right onto HWY 126 and Lockport St. are unable to move because the train. It doesn't make any difference if vehicle is in an ambulance, fire truck or car, you just can't get through the bumper to bumper conditions that are present. If a train over miles long was to stop traffic in Plainfield during rush hour, a drive to the hospital, fourteen miles away would take in excess of one hour. Add another fifteen minutes to half hour to this trip, if school were in session. Please do not approve the sale of EJ&E as it would make worst an already unsafe environmental situation in Plainfield. The Safety of our Schools, transportation of injuried and sickly patients would be scarified with the approval of the Canadian Rail deal.
