This letter is to show my support for the proposed aquisition of the EJ&E Railway by Canadian National(Docket # 35087). I am a resident of Mount Prospect, Illinois who owns a home directly behind the Canadian National lines. Not only do these lines run freight trains, but they also run commuter trains. CN runs approximately 15-20 freight trains a day. I would like to see CN aquire the EJ&E to help reduce some of the train traffic running through my backyard. The amount of trains running along the CN line has grown during the time I have lived in my home. The trains don't really bother me. They rarely cause a great deal of traffic congestion for me or my family. There is the occasional engine that seems to produce more pollution then the other well maintained locomotives. It would be nice to have some of the other communities help carry the burden. Residents in Barrington and other communities are raising concerns over traffic, pollution, other quality of live issues. These are still concerns within communities in my area. It only seems fair to allow CN to aquire the EJ&E and relieve some of the train congestion for communities like, Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect, and Des Plaines.
