This letter is in support of the CN/EJ&E transaction. The EJ&E is a great new route for the traffic to run around the Chicago region. It will eliminate trucks off the highways, move traffic more efficiently and clears up congestion in areas that aren't getting as much publicity as those opposing it. Bottom line is that towns do not want rail traffic going through their confines. I get that, however I also get that people have a choice in where they live and it is ridiculous to think that trains will not run on railroad tracks. I for one, would like to see less trucks on the highway. Rail is a greener way to transport. I'm asking that the STB look at the overall benefits of the transaction to the larger region and not just those in opposition. You will see it best serves the Chicagoland region and it's outlying suburbs. Thank you for your time.
