I fully support the application of the Canadian National Railway to acquire the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway. I feel that it is in the best interests of the Chicago Metropolitan area and the nation as a whole that this transaction be approved and implemented. The political posturing of the various elected officials representing communities along the EJ&E is not in the best interests of the communities they serve. Most of the traffic problems that they attribute to CN's proposal are in reality, pre-existing and should have been addressed decades ago.
