As a homeowner near the EJ&E railroad line in Frankfort, IL, my husband, David, and I are extremely opposed to the sale of the line to the CNT. We strongly believe that increased traffic on the line will reduce the value of the property surrounding the line. The increase of train activity will cause noise pollution, traffic congestion and increase the potential for accidents at railroad crossings. The negative results will be extremely detrimental to the Village of Frankfort and its residents. Although many residents don't take the time to officially register their complaints, our neighbors have the same concerns as we do. Even now, we are subjected to trains blasting their horns at all hours of the night. We cannot imagine how awful the noise pollution will be if CNT acquires the line and increases the traffic four times more than the current traffic load.
