I am writing regarding the possible purchase of the EJ&E railroad by the Canadian railway. I am completely against this purchase due to the large amount of extra traffic that will be created by this sale. My home is not far from the tracks and I now can feel my house tremble and hear the trains. I don't want to live this on a continual basis due to increased traffic. More importantly, the high school for our school district, and the new high school being built for our district, is across the railroad tracks that have to be crossed by students and parents to get to the school. There is not a bridge so we are forced to wait in traffic. When students and parents are sometimes making 3 to 4 trips to the high school a day, having 42 trains going across these tracks a day will cause a tremendous back up of traffic and make the commute for our students to be longer. Finally, the closest hospital (Rush Copley) is only 5 minutes away; however, it is on the other side of the railway tracks and there is not a bridge for an ambulance. Thank you for your consideration in now allowing increased traffic to the communities along the current EJ&E railway.
