I am against the Canadian National Railway?s request of the STB to acquire the EJ&E Railroad, which runs north/south through parts of the Indian Prairie School District in Aurora and Naperville. It has been estimated that the Canadian National Railway will increase traffic on the EJ&E line to as many as two trains PER HOUR, a dramatic increase over current volumes increasing gridlock in our area. - Delaying emergency response vehicles - Increasing freight traffic along a line that runs through or is adjacent to 17 District 204 schools - Proposed increase in transportation of hazardous cargo which puts residents and children in danger in cases of accident or derailment - Possible future complications of Metra?s planned STAR rail line - and increase in NOISE POLLUTION. We live 1/2 of a mile from the train and hear the train every hour at night like it's in our back yard.
