Dear Ms. Johnson-Ball: I am writng to express my concerns and formal objection to the proposed railroad purchase. This purchase would directly effect me and my children, as we will be required to cross the rail line in question in order to attend middle school and high school and activities. 2 trains per hour would pose significantly increased danger-especially for teenage drivers- and delays to our daily travel requirements. Additionally, I have a few other concerns: a. Increasing gridlock in our area b. Delaying emergency response vehicles c. Increasing freight traffic along a line that runs through or is adjacent to 17 District 204 schools d. Proposed increase in transportation of hazardous cargo which puts residents and children in danger in cases of accident or derailment e. Possible future complications of Metra's planned STAR rail line Thank you for your consideration!
