The issue with increased freight traffic on lines owned by CN in Lake County, IL has been brought to my attention. Being a Lake County resident, we are already disadvantaged in terms of a road infrastructure system. My daily commute is on the order of an hour for only a 14 mile distance. Increased freight traffic will only go to worsen a already crippled road system in terms of congestion and delay. If this proposal is to pass, it must be complemented with some sort of releif to the road system, either in the form of overpasses, underpasses, increased lanes. A study must be done to satisfy the number of commuters in Lake County before allowing a 400% increase in freight traffic, that most likely will not even benefit our county.
