Ref: STB Finance Docket 35087. This is an objection to the proposed sale of EJ&E RR to CN RR. The drastically increased volume of freight trains going through our village will be all bad. There is only one underpass in the village to alleviate traffic near downtown. The area is currently undergoing redevelopment which is already being slowed by the economy, and this will surely make things worse. Traffic snarls, delayed response by emergency vehicles, locality of tracks in relation to schools, and hazardous materials being brought through the villages are several obvious reasons why this will hurt our village and our property values.
