There is no good side" to the proposed aquisition for our community. 1 - Traffic The current traffic load is already excessive even at non peak times. 2 - Public safety Due to the traffic, people will tend to take more chances with the prospect of long freight trains. We have too many parks and schools on either side of this track. Somebody is going to get hurt. 3 - Noise Fine CN says we can run trains off hours. Well it would be nice if I could get some sleep. If you look at my address and overlay one of O'Hare airports' flight paths you will find they fly right over my house. And at certain unexplicable times they choose to lower the altitude so I can count the rivets on the bottom of the planes. I already am disturbed by the freight traffic on the commuter lines. I doubt the O'Hare expansion will reduce this equation. 4 - Groundwater contamination This entire community is served by public and private wells. We do not need the increased risk of a chemical spill. 5 - Property values This area has worked long and hard to maintain and improve the real estate. The impact will be negative. 6 - Wildlife We have numerous forest preserves and a wildlife sanctuary in the area. A freight line does not fit in this equation. The phone number listed is my cell. Please do not hesitate to contact me if needed. Sincerely, Michael Cleary E.E."
