I moved to Plainfield in December 2007. Last night I attended my first ever Home Owners Association meeting. I was informed about the possibility that the Surface Transportation Board could approve the request. As STB's own documentation states there will likely be an impact to the environment; not to mention the the families living along the railway. I would like to voice my concern and disapproval that the number of trains using the lines running along the west side of my subdivision. Plainfield was recently noted in a national article as being the 5th fasting growing suburb in the country. With this growth comes additional children and schools to teach and nuture the additional children. I believe the incremental noise and air pollution caused along with other forms of negative environmental impact that would be caused as a result of increased train activity is cause enough to reject the proposal. I would appreciate any direction the STB can provide regarding what additional action I take to block the approval of the proposal. Thank you, Bill Murphy
