I wanted to register my objection to the potential purchase of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern rail line that runs through Lake Zurich, IL, by the Canadian National (CN) Railroad. The potential impact on the quality of life in Lake Zurich is enormous. Delayed response from emergency services, even worse traffic congestion and unsafe crossings for schoolbuses, commuters and pedestrians. In addition, this volume of trains will bring with it a lot of noise and much more pollution from the multiple locomotives. Not to mention that these type of trains carry high volumes of dangerous chemicals that would be traveling right past our schools and homes. Please stop this transaction.
