My sons and their friends and I have noticed that when gates lower to signal a train's arrival, drivers frequently do a little hesitation dance. Accelerate to zip through or brake to err on the safe side. At this point, most of the time they brake. That's when we are only inconvenienced a couple of times a day at the maximum -- more like once a week. How many people will lose that instinctive caution knowing for sure that upwards of 20 times a day they will lose six or so minutes (that's two hours of people waiting). I predict many grave (pun intended) accidents and many deaths due to the frustration of busy people being thwarted over and over again. And we all can accurately predict many more deaths of asthmatics (children included) and those who experience seizures (children included) as a direct result of ambulances being thwarted to the tune of four to six minutes on their routes. Both ways. This is a disaster and will be the ruin of many small, family-oriented communities. We live in a small home. All our equity is in this home. Property values will plummet because people won't stay here if this purchase goes through. In addition to losing our town as we have all known it, we will lose our shirts. Lynn Adams
