I am writing in comment of the proposed acquision of the EJ & E railway which runs on the west side on Naperville by Canadian National. I am opposed to it for a number of reasons, but primarily because of the safety issues involved any time a train runs through your town. More trains means more backups and more people trying to beat the train. Our children will be going to high school on the other side of the tracks. Should we be putting high school students at risk? Then there's just the time to consider. Trains during rush hour would mean that the buses must pick the kids up that much earlier and an already long commute will be required to extend even longer. We often do activities and shopping and the like on that side of the tracks to avoid the already congested areas to the east. The roads are primarily single lanes, how much of a back up are we going to have to endure? These are fairly personal issues, they don't even go into the noise, pollution or other things like this. Please consider these comments and know that many of us are opposed to this proposition.
