If the EJ&E merger were to happen, the town of Barrington would simply cripple.The traffic is already horrific.Barrington Rd. is one tortuous stretch of traffic with no room to improve with homes on either side of the street.It would be devastating to businesses. Also, I would hate to see highschoolers try to beat" the train, knowing a long freight will make them late for class.Even adults, coming off commuter trains are struck in a hurry to get home, never see the other train coming. Barrington can NOT handle the existing traffic now, adding freight trains would only provide chaos,noise & congestion to an otherwise small town that has no more room to grow."
