As a Director of the Board of Advocate Health Care, the parent company of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, and as a citizen of the Barrington/Deer Park area, I strongly encourage the study to include an assessment of the impact of road closings due to rail traffic on the risk of emergency transportation delays to the hospital. Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital serves the emergency care needs of Barrington, Lake Zurich, and surrounding areas. The existing rail tracks cross all roads between my home (and most other communities east of Barrington) and the hospital. Increased rail traffic would significantly lengthen the emergency vehicle transportation time to the hospital. We ask that the study address the impact of this risk on the health needs of our communities. Thank you.
