I live approximately 100 yards from the tracks and the noise as well as the vibration from the passing trains wakes us up at night. It also makes it hard to hear on the telephone or anytime you are out in the yard. Also the only way for me to leave my neighborhood and head north is across the railroad tracks, if they are tied up for much of the day how will I ever get where I need to go. The quality of life for my entire family will be greatly affected by all day trains. The crossings are all graded crossings, only one actually has gates, which is a huge safety concern cosidering there is a school less than a quarter mile away.I feel without restrictions that my neighborhood will become a rail yard with all the dangers associated to a rail yard hazmats and crime. Also many of these trains could be carrying potential hazardous materials and what are the restrictions for that. I would hate to be sent away from my home because of a rail hazard issue. There should be sound barriers in place for the neighborhoods that will be affected, as well as limitations on the amount of time the crossings are blocked. There should also be a limited number of trains that can go by in a days time. My property value has already dropped $25,000 with just the proposal of this transaction.
