I just wanted to express serious concern about the proposed increased train traffic on the EJ&E Railroad through Barrington, IL. The railway slices diagonally through the town from the NE to the SW, and has surface crossings over: 1] Route 14, or Northwest Highway, a very busy artery serving communities to the NW of Barrington 2] Route 59, or Hough St, the main, or the only direct North-South road in the area, also a busy transportation artery 3] Main St, County Line Rd, or Lake-Cook Rd, which is the principal East-West route through Barrington 4] Union Pacific District Northwest Line, a busy spoke of the Metra Rail commuter train system, as well as rail freight. This railway also crosses 2] Route 59 and 3] Main St At this time, before the increase in train frequency on the EJ&E Railroad, Barrington daily becomes blocked with traffic due to trains. Please make sure to investigate delays due to the crossing railways, as well as the surface route blockages they cause, and the interaction between multiple routes and railways. Emergency services response times would be greatly impacted, as well as serious transportation delays to Good Sheppard Hospital from the cut-off SE side of Barrington. The school district CUSD 220 has a large very large service area dependent on bus transportation and uses the above mentioned roads to carry children throughout the district. The same buses are used for elementary, middle schools and the high school. Thank you for your consideration, George Sampaleanu
