To whom it may concern: I live within 200 feet of the EJ&E crossing in downtown Barrington, IL. Traffic backs up to a standstill in front of my house before and after school and during an extended rush hour in the morning and evening. I cannot imagine traffic being any worse until I heard that the CN purchase of the EJ&E railroad might be a possibility. I moved to my current home to be near town not to be cutoff from town. I moved to my home knowing I would live on a busy street but I did not plan on that street becoming a parking lot of stalled traffic all day long. I did not move here to be awakened all night by train whistles and vibrations. Twenty trains moving through Barrington on a daily basis will destroy my property values. It will seriously damage my community. It will make getting to Barrington or passing through town impossible for everyone living in the far northwestern suburbs. It will endanger the safety of my neighbors and it will separate a large community high school and hospital from the rest of the community. For what? So that the stockholders of CN can make more money? Not at my expense!
