My wife and I own a home in the community of Gregg'g Landing in Vernon Hills which is within one block of the EI&E right of way proposed to be acquired by Canadian National RR which would increase the number of daily freight trains using these tracks to 20 . Consider the effect on the surrounding community and it's residents: 1. Home values would be severely reduced. 2. Substantial increase in noise levels affecting residents, particularlly those whose health or employment requires sufficient sleep and rest. 3. Increased pollution levels. 4. Increased danger to children who play in the area. 5. Increased traffic congestion at crossings in the area. For these and many other reasons I believe and request that the proposed acquisition be denied for the welfare of the community.
