1. I am concerned about hazardous spills and derailments into the Waubonsie Creek and the adjacent Nature Preserve. 2. How is the amount of wildlife in this area and along the tracks (deer, fox, coyote, raccoon, etc.) secured and protected from noise and vibration influence. Green corridor. 3. The grade level crossing at Ogden Ave will divert a considerable amount of car traffic North on Eola Rd and through the first logical bypass (shortcut) Oakhurst Dr N. This is a residential street with school children and a public playground. Children are in danger. 4. The schoolbus routes for McCarty, Waubonsie, Still are crossing the tracks. This is a traffic delay and safety concern. 5. The noise increase from 40 trains per day will be unbearable for residents. The horns are audible for miles. Residential dwellings are very close to the tracks. Zoning didn't consider high frequency freight traffic. I expect a budget to soundproof residential housing. I expect quiet zones for all grade crossings. 6. Vibration from an occasionally faster passing train (40 mph) is already recognizable in our neighborhood (up to 300 yd away). I expect a speed limit on the tracks of 25 mph and vibration proofing of the McCoy bridge. 7. Will there be a compensation for the damage to property values? 8. The increase in trains will hurt 1000's of residents in the western suburbs in various ways. It will not help or only very little to reduce congestion on the tracks through Chicago.
