The safety issues related to the CN acquisition have been well documented. I would like to note the effect that the increased traffic will have on the area roads slightly removed from the downtown road crossings. To avoid the delays caused by the trains, outlying roads will be used. One such road immediately west of Barrington is Brinker Road--a 2 lane township road going thru a hilly, heavily wooded area with limited visibility. This ~4 mile road goes directly past an elementary school playground and thru a wildlife area. The deer, coyotes, foxes and other animals populating the area create additional safety issues for drivers on this unlit road. This road is not designed for increased traffic or as an alternate for emergency vehicles. The infrastructure to handle the flow of traffic from/to the northwestern suburbs needs to be addressed as part of the environmental impact of increased train traffic thru Barrington. The proposed benefit to CN needs to be offset by the economic/environmental detriment of area gridlock, wasted resources and reduced quality of life. Thank you.
