If the proposed Canadian National Railway Company acquires the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company it will adversely affect the environment here in Wayne. We have just added several hundred acres of forest preserve land. This land is home to some endangered turtles and native plants. The increased traffic will also effect migratory birds. Our fire and ambulance service will not be able to get through to us due to trains blocking the roads that lead to our village. This I feel is even more important than the environmental effect.
