Dear Mrs. Johnson-Ball: As a homeonwner near the current EJ&E rail line, we are quite concerned about the possible acquisition of the rail line by CN. Our primary concerns focus on the expected substantial increase in noise and vibration of our home, the safety of our daughter's school bus crossing the grade crossing at 111th Street, the increase traffic congestion, increased air pollution, and decrease in our property value. Had we known that this sale was in consideration we would not have purchased our new house near this rail line. Please carefully consider the impact of this railway acquisition. Although there are potential benefits for some residents in other portions of the Chicago area, there are substantial detrimental effects in areas such as where my family lives. We do not beleive that the acquisistion of the EJ&E Rail line by CN is beneficial to the residents of Plainfield or any other community along the rail line.
