As board members of Shorely Woods Apartment Condominium Association we are concerned about the Canadian National Railway acquisition of the EJ&E rail track and the resulting increase rail traffic. A majority of our residents are elderly and we are very concerned about the possible longer response times for medical emergencies. With increased train traffic and the likely increase in the time to commute to the downtown Barrington area for grocery shopping, doctor appointments, and other activities, we are concerned about the safety of our residents walking or driving to downtown Barrington. Our property borders the rail tracks. We are also very concerned about the environmental impact to our property. Thank you for the opportunity to voice our concerns.
