I am a trustee for the Village of Deer Park, and I am speaking in that role and as an individual resident. The proposed purchase by Canadian National would have an extremely negative impact on the residents of Deer Park. A portion of the Village would be denied immediate access to the closest hospital (Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington) while the numerous proposed freight trains are passing through the area. In addition, children in another portion of the Village may be late for school when those same trains are blocking their bus routes. Please consider people as part of the environment when making your Environmental Impact Study.
