The acquisition of the EJ&Eby CN will adversely affect the quality of life in my City and School District. With the proposed acquisition, the level and types of traffic on the rails will increase. A once utilized line moving non hazardous materials will become a highly utilized line moving various hazrdous waste. The health hazard is my concern. My second concern is the proximity of the tracks to a number of schools within Indian Prairie SD 204. My last concern is the lack of ANY grade separations in our vicinity. As our school district is in the process of revisiting attendance bounaries, it appears that the number of additional trips over these tracks in our vicinity will increase dramatically. This is a concern because a) the time traffic will be stopped each time the increased number of trains goes by b) the ability of emergency vehicles to move over the tracks c) young drivers will have to cross these tracks daily. I encourage the STB to deny this acquisition. If the acquisition is approved, I request that CN be responsible for adding at least 1 grade separated crossing south of Naperville's 83rd Street and that in the vicinty of any existing schools that CN be required to work with school districts (in this case Indian Prairie)to ensure an extra layer of protection is in place.
