Just wanted to voice our opinion on the potential purchase of Canadian Nationals Purchase of EJ & E Railroad. I live in the Liberty Square subdivision directly across the street from the train. We are very disturbed to hear how the trains may increase almost five times to what we currently have running by our home. We feel this will greatly devalue our home and disrupt our quality of life. We would be extremely concerned about the large number or hazardous materials running by our home each day. The noise of the train, especially the horns, will definitely disrupt our everyday life, especially during the time we are spending outside. We are also concerned with the amount of traffic that will occur in result of this. We feel most of the time the signal will be down, prohibiting us from getting anywhere south on Cedar Rd which is the main road we use daily, including taking our son to school. We truly hope this will be taken into consideration before or after the purchase if it does go through. If it does happen, we would only hope that an over/under pass would be built and quiet zones would be enforced. Please contact us with any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.
