Regarding the proposed Canadian National Railway acquisition of th EJ&E Railway Company, STB Finance Docket #35087 Ladies & Gentlemen: I am opposed to the proposed acquisition for several reasons: 1. The estimated traffic impact (more than 4 times the number of trains) travelling through residential areas. 2. This increased traffic volume will significantly increase noise and vibration pollution in our community 3. The increased traffic will severely impact the response times of emergency services (police, fire, health care) 4. The increased traffic will endanger children and adults going to Citizens Park and the Barrington Library 5. The increased traffic will endanger children on school busses to and from most if not all Barrington schools 6. The increased traffic will cause a huge increase in automobile traffic congestion through downtown Barrington as crossings are blocked. 7. The increased traffic will cause delays in the commuter rail service depended on by many Barrington residents.
