I am a resident of Barrington Illinois and will be directly affected if Canadian National were to purchase the EJ&E railroad. I will be impacted in the following ways: - There will be 20 trains a day rather than three which will cause long delays within town given the longer number of cars per train and the fact that multiple intersections will be tied up if a long train were to go through Lake Zurich. - Emergency vehicles and school buses will be unable to get to their destinations given the numerous long trains that are proposed by Canadian National. - The noise and air pollution will be increased by going from 3 trains daily to 20 trains daily. - The risk of an environmantal disaster are increased because of the number of increased trains. - My property value will decrease because of the increased number of daily trains. - The safety of our children are at risk because the EJ&E line goes through many neighborhoods. The chances for a train to derail increases greatly because of more daily trains.
