Sandalwood Estates subdivision backs up to the tracks. The blaring horns wake everyone up in the house at 4a.m. (Even with our windows closed!!) We can't even carry a conversation outside if a train goes by - the noise is unbearable. This is a request for Sound barriers, vibrations barriers, Quiet Zones and if nothing else - a crossing gate at 116th Street. I've got kids under the age of 10 that like ride their bikes around the neighborhood. Knowing that there is no gate at 116th Street makes me upset and nervous for my kid's safety in their own neighborhood.
