Comment in reference to STB Finance Docket No. 35087--Canadian National/EJ&E Railway. I am a resident of Lake Barrington IL. I live in the area that would be negatively impacted by the proposed Canadian National Railway acquistion and use of the EJ&E railways. I am very concerned with the public safety implications of the proposed use of the railways. Local Fire, paramedic and police service would be negatively affected by the significant increase in traffic on the railways. This is turn would not only directly affect these basic public health and safety services to residents and businesses, but would also result in a deteoriation of the quality of life in the area. Propery values would decrease, tax base would lower, other services would be decreased. Please closely examine the impact of these critical areas in the environmental study that you conduct.
