I am a resident who lives at 11548 Tea Tree Lane in Frankfort IL. The EJ&E Railroad line runs past our house. As it now stands, the railroad seems to run a train on the average of three times every eight hours. When these trains come buy they start blowing the whistle almost three blocks away. This goes on at all hours of the day and night. I would like to see the area become a quite zone restricting the train from using it's whistle and maintaining a slower speed than they normally go. When they speed by with a heavy load our house shakes and I'm afraid of damage which may be done. In addition, I am concerned with the lack of gates on the 116th St. crossing. It is only a matter of time before something happens and this area has grown considerable in size and population. In conclusion I would like to see this area made a quite zone, vibration barriers & sound barriers installed, and crossing gates. Please help us keep this community safe and environmentally friendly.
