The Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce and its board of directors repectfully request that hearings on CNs request for aquisiton of EJ&E be held in all donwstate communities with Amtrak service from Chicago Union Station to Carbondale. The subsequent abandonment of the Air Line route would affect the 400,000 annual riders along that route. The EJ&E aquisition should not be allowed until the Grand Crossing line in in place and functional for Amtrak service into Unoin Station
