My husband and I own a home in the Heritage Lake Estates Subdivision. We have been in this subdivision since April 2004. We would like to express our concerns about the Canadian Ntl, Railyway buying the EJ&E Rail Line. The trains that go by our house (the back of our house is by the tracks) in the middle of the night are almost unbearable now. Luckily my boys and my husband can sleep through them, but I still get woken up nightly when one of the engineers decides to really lay it on. I just can't imagine living here if those episodes increased to over 42/day. We also need tot hink about how this will impact emergency vehicles getting to our homes. I have two boys under the age of 3 and I wouldn't want to think that one of the extra trains could keep my sons from getting the attention they need in an emergency situation. Besides noise and emergency situations, I am concerned about derailment, decrease in property value, and daily traffic back-up. Who want to buy a house that has a train going by it every 30 minutes. This is going to impact our neighborhood in a negative way and I hope that you are listening to the concerns of the community. Our property values continue to go up with additions to shopping centers and major retail stores and I would hate to have this decision bring our property value down. The concerns of our community need to be heard.
