My name is Dr. Chris Pelletiere, MD and this is regards to the proposed purchase of EJ and E Railway by Canadian Pacific in Northern Illinois. With the planned increase traffic on the line, and the fact that the trains will block every major north/south road at the same time for an average time of 6 to 10 minutes, I have grave concerns over the ability to get to our local hospital, Advocate Good Shepherd. No matter which way I travel, I have to cross over those rail lines unless I travel 9 miles out of the way. As a physician who responds to emergency room calls, I have to be readily available to the Hospital. Sitting, waiting for a freight train to pass almost every hour, compounded with the traffic back-ups from the already heavy car and commuter train traffic will severly compromise patient care and emergency response in the area. To allow this to go through would have an enormous, detrimental enviornmental impact on the Barrington/Lake Zurich area, both physically and financially
