As a Bartlett home owner very close to the rail lines impacted by the merger, I am very much opposed to the increased rail traffic. Our neighborhood accepts the traffic that exists today which sometime causes long traffic delays on West Bartlett Rd as long freight trains cross, and we are used to the midnight freight that sometimes is loud enough to wake us from sleep, but increasing the volume of traffic to the extent being proposed would cause significant impact on our community, real estate values and quality of life. It also seems reasonable to assume that the danger level will increase with increased opportunities for hazmat situations if more trains are passing through with potentially hazardous material. Please do not allow this increased traffic to proceed.
