On Behalf of the Homeowners Assoc. Of Deer Crossing I would like to formally express my concern for the probable increase in Rail Traffic associated with the pending purchase of the EJ & E ralline by CN. In about a half mile stretch of track between Golf Rd and the Northwest Tollway there are about 500 homes that are within a 1/4 mile of the tracks. There are about 50 homes whose lots are directly next to the tracks. Our primary concern is safety, The increase in trains crossing Shoe Factory Rd. will interfere with emergency vehicles traffic and will also cause dramatic delays for the school buses who cross that spot 10-15 times a day. In addition many of our families enjoy the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve that is directly next to our neighborhood. The only way to get there is to cross the tracks. The risk of injury or fatalaties will significantly increase along with the traffic.
