This correspondence is in reference to the the “Canadian National-Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway” proceeding in STB Finance Docket No. 35087. I can not stress enough how this potential change in the amount of trains through my community would hurt my family and my neighbors. Given that hundreds of homes back up to the tracks--and that a elementary school is less than four blocks from the tracks, the pollution caused by the trains and possible toxic leaks from of railroad disaster would be unspeakable. Given that this subdivision relies on well water, should a toxic leak occur, we'd be in huge trouble. They have just started building a brand new Fire Station just east of the railroad crossing in Bartlett. Should there be this huge increase in train traffic, this new station that my tax dollars are help paying for will be useless---in the event of a fire or heart attack, the trains would most likely cause the matters to end in disaster. Another aspect of how wrong this proposal is relates to traffic flow. West Bartlett Road is THE only main road within over a mile that heads east into the main area of Bartlett and surrounding areas. Should these trains come, I can just imagine the grid lock all surrounding roads would experience. Even now trains for some unknown reason decide to stop while the gates are still down--bringing all flow of traffic in the area to a skretching halt. I purchased my home because I thought it was in a safe, clean and secure area--please make sure that this stay this way. Please don't allow this train plan to take place. Should you want to contact me to discuss this further, please be sure to do so. Thank you! for your help in this very important matter. Ric Hansen
