Regarding the proposed purchase of the EJ&E railway by Canadian national railway: I am concerned that this route crosses IL. Rte 59 (a major state hyway) in muliple locations. These currently are tolerable although aggravating bottlenecks due to current freight train traffic. If this purchase is approved, Canadian railways plans on greatly increasing fright train traffic which will make hwy. 59 virtually useless as a route between my city and Wisconsin. I believe that if approved it should only be with the proviso that Canadian railway erect bridges across major state hyways (primarily hwy. 59). The environmental imapct of the air fouled by thousands of idleing cars is unacceptable.
