STB Finance Docket No. 35087 Municipalities along the proposed Canadian National Railway acquisition of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway in Illinois and Indiana need to be made aware of the increased noise pollution created by excessive train horn blowing at railroad grade crossings in residential areas. Municipalities need to be notified about creating Quiet Zones or a corridor Quiet Zone. South Holland, Illinois is infested with train horn blowing day and night -- even on Sunday, Mother's Day and holidays including Christmas. A petition [more than 700 signatures so far] is being circulated here to establish two Quiet Zones. Check the Web site [Q and Z have to be capital] for details www.geocities.com/raydurovec/QuietZone
