I am extremely concerned about the potential increase in rail traffic as an outcome of the proposed acquisition of the EJE railway company by CN. Please make sure all factors are considered prior to approving the purchase. The 5 trains per day already creates havoc with traffic, and noise in the middle of the night from the trains wakes up my children. An increase would create safety issues and the congestion would cripple the Barrington community. Id like your assessment to include the impact on Emergency personnel getting to/from patients and hospitals, increased risk of train accidents (several teenagers have recently been killed by trains), congestion with traffic patterns, and impact on environment, home values, and traffic congestion.
